2026年6月26日午後10時28分ごろ、山梨県東部・富士五湖を震源とするマグニチュード5.6の地震が発生しました。
山梨県富士河口湖町では、最大震度6弱を観測しました。
震源の深さは約20キロ。
発震機構は、北西から南東方向に押されて発生した逆断層型です。
今回の地震による津波の心配はありません。
震源が富士山に近いため、
富士山が噴火するのではないか。
最近、地震が多すぎる。
南海トラフ巨大地震の前兆ではないか。
と不安になった方も多いと思います。
しかし、現在、気象庁は富士山の火山活動に特段の変化はないとしています。
火山性地震や火山性微動、地殻変動などに、噴火が近づいていることを示す特別な変化は確認されていません。
噴火警戒レベルは1です。
また、今回の地震を理由として、南海トラフ地震臨時情報は発表されていません。
南海トラフ巨大地震との直接的な関連を示す根拠も、現時点では示されていません。
ただし、
富士山は活火山です。
南海トラフ巨大地震は平常時から発生可能性が高いとされています。
今すぐ噴火する兆候がないことと、今後も永久に安全であることは別です。
臨時情報がないことと、備えが不要であることも別です。
気象庁は、強く揺れた地域では、今後1週間程度、特に2～3日程度は同程度の強い揺れに注意するよう呼びかけています。

A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck eastern Yamanashi and the Fuji Five Lakes region at approximately 10:28 p.m. on June 26, 2026.
A maximum seismic intensity of lower 6 on the Japanese scale was recorded in Fujikawaguchiko.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of approximately 20 kilometres and was classified as a reverse-fault earthquake.
Because the epicentral area is close to Mount Fuji, many people immediately wondered whether the earthquake could trigger a volcanic eruption.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, no significant change has been observed in the volcanic activity of Mount Fuji.
No unusual volcanic tremors, crustal deformation or other signs indicating an imminent eruption have been reported.
The volcanic alert level remains at Level 1.
Some people are also concerned that the recent series of earthquakes could be a sign of the anticipated Nankai Trough megaquake.
At present, there is no official evidence linking this earthquake directly to the Nankai Trough.
No special Nankai Trough earthquake advisory has been issued because of this event.
However, this does not mean that Japan is free from future earthquake or volcanic risk.
Mount Fuji remains an active volcano.
The Nankai Trough megaquake remains a major long-term risk.
The important distinction is between a current warning sign and a general long-term hazard.
The JMA advises people in the strongly shaken areas to remain alert for another earthquake of similar intensity, especially during the next two or three days.
Check your home for damage.
Sleep away from unsecured furniture.
Keep shoes, a flashlight and a charged smartphone next to your bed.
Stay away from unstable slopes, particularly after heavy rain.
Do not rely on rumours or earthquake predictions.
Follow official information from the JMA and local authorities.
