This should not be on taxpayers. Anyone who has paid for insurance should get coverage they paid for without it causing higher premiums. We give them money for this. If the system isn't working, it needs to change. Tax the rich!

Hey Mayor you can't get disaster relief until you call a state of emergency. They don't just hand you money because you asked. Proper channels mean you call an emergency and then the province takes over. Or the feds if the province can't provide resources. But you lose control and also it has to let the criteria of an emergency

What every city still hasn't figured out, concrete and asphalt aren't very absorbent 😂 You can not continue to build and not have adequate run off systems, every mall, parking lot, building of any type, creates a blockage to rain or snow melt 😀, They now have absorbent concrete and asphalt, bring your wallet 😅

If your basement flooded here are two simple things that would have prevented it. A back flow prevention valve for your floor drain and a toilet balloon plug cost less than $100. Why Insurance Companies and Municipalities don't recommend these is just insane. Don't be helpless…fix it!
