A chilly but bright start in the east, with some mist and fog clearing. Cloud thickens from the west through the morning, bringing rain to Northern Ireland, Wales, and southwest England. Most areas turn cloudier, with sunshine lingering longest in the northeast. Feeling a little milder in the east, while the west stays cooler and damp. – This is the Met Office UK weather forecast for the morning of 16/05/2026. Bringing you today’s forecast is Alex Burkill.

Gotta love how Met Office reliably skims over how far below normal average temperatures are for mid May, always focusing instead on anything else, masters of misdirection and obfuscation protecting its overarching 'climate change' narrative
Thanks for the update Alex. So Cornwall is going back to normal – mild and wet! I'll be glad to see the back of those northerly winds though. What we really need is a nice, big anticyclone sitting over us and some warm sunshine ☀️
In next week and in the holidays temperatures will exceed 24°C and highter
The 4th heatwave is coming
And winds from the south will come here same with the southern temperatures maybe if its better we could when get 30+°C
Eid will be sunny and hot
