Russia is facing a growing fuel crisis, with emergency measures now being introduced in parts of the country as Ukrainian drone attacks continue to target the country’s oil refining industry.
In this video, I examine why one of the world’s largest oil producers is experiencing fuel shortages, why fuel sales are being restricted across dozens of Russian regions, and why Russian-installed authorities have declared a state of emergency in Crimea.
We also look at Vladimir Putin’s admission that fuel shortages are affecting parts of Russia, the creation of a government task force to protect domestic fuel supplies, and the export restrictions now being introduced on gasoline and aviation fuel, with a possible diesel export ban also under consideration.
The real issue isn’t crude oil production—it’s Russia’s ability to refine that oil into petrol, diesel and jet fuel. Repeated attacks on refineries are creating bottlenecks that are beginning to affect transport, agriculture, industry and the wider Russian economy.

Some regions have declared an emergency. That is a very different thing from saying Russia has declared a State of Emergency, which is a quite specific thing that gives the president a raft of special powers. We may well be seeing that in due course, though.
There is a fuel shortage this summer. If the harvest cannot be brought in as usual, food shortages are expected in the fall and winter. Prices will rise anyway.
Since the 1917 revolution, Russians have been struggling against their government to survive, and life has evolved to a country of corruption, crime, addiction, apathy, and a total lack of ethics, morals, illegalities and a complete lack of respect for human life! Their indifference to the plight of ukraine is inexcusable! (as is DJT.'s)! I have no sympathy for whatever happens in Russia or to Russians! May they burn in hell!
Crimea residents are basically camping out in their own homes.
No electricity.
No refrigerated food.
No fresh water.
No fuel.
PS — only a Russian citizen that has invested in solar power, home battery and an EV can manage a lifestyle that is somewhat normal. You’d also need a vegetable plot and a fishing pole.
PS2 — having had to live for 5 days without grid power due to a recent wildfire, things are very difficult, but at least I could drive 5-10 miles and bring back necessities, something Crimean residents can’t do without crossing over the Kerch bridge and driving a lot more miles.

Let's hope it's the end for Putin , it would be the best 2026 present for every decent person..Putin could stop this immediately, simply move out of Ukraine and we mean all of it including Crimea. Russia is lying about the effectiveness of Ukrainian drone strikes. Russia is not even shooting down 50% of Ukrainian drones. Russia claims debris damage while videos show multiple drones hitting their targets. Everything is not going according to plan in a 3 week SMO that is now in the fifth year.

The destroyed Russian oil refineries are built with Western and Japanese high-tech components. Unless Russia accepts an unconditional surrender to Ukraine and reconciles with Europe, the United States, and Japan, its gasoline shortage will never be resolved. With agricultural production and logistics already paralyzed, entering the winter under these conditions will leave the country with a severe lack of fuel even to heat homes, leading to the starvation and freezing to death of countless Russians. The Putin regime must step down immediately and surrender unconditionally to Ukraine.

The gas station that masquerading as a country running out of fuel is extremely ironic.
